Hear from leaders of major construction associations as they share how their organizations are driving innovation, supporting industry transformation, and addressing emerging challenges across the construction sector.
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM The Workforce Gap: Demand, Supply, and Productivity
As workforce pressures continue to grow across the construction industry, this session explores the relationship between labour demand, workforce supply, and productivity, and how innovation, technology, and new approaches may help address these challenges.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Construction Innovation at Scale: Connecting Research, Industry, and Capital
This session explores how research, industry partnerships, and investment are coming together to accelerate construction innovation and support the transition from promising ideas to real world implementation and growth.
3:30 PM – 4:30 PM Innovation in Action
This session brings together industry perspectives on collaboration, innovation management, and digital transformation across the construction and built environment sectors. Discussions will explore approaches to integrated project delivery, innovation implementation, BIM and facilities management integration, and the systems and structures needed to move innovation from ideas to execution.
Day 2 – thursday, MAy 28
8:30 – 10:00 AM Keynotes & Emerging Innovators Rapid Pitch
In this session, Paul Verhesen will explore “Why Construction Struggles to Innovate” and the barriers that continue to limit innovation adoption across the construction industry. The session also features rapid pitches from top student research posters. Selected students will showcase emerging ideas, technologies, and research initiatives that address current and future challenges in construction and the built environment.
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM Meet, Connect, Collaborate!
Designed to encourage meaningful conversations across the construction innovation ecosystem, this interactive networking session gives attendees the opportunity to rapidly connect with industry leaders, researchers, innovators, and professionals from across the sector.
1:00 – 2:30 PM Construction Innovation Spotlight
This session features real world examples of innovation being implemented across the construction and built environment sectors. Industry presenters will share practical experiences, lessons learned, and outcomes from projects and initiatives involving collaboration, digital technologies, innovation systems, and new approaches to project delivery and operations.
3:00 – 4:30 PM Research Driving Change
This session highlights applied research initiatives that are contributing to innovation and advancement across the construction industry. Presentations will showcase how research is being translated into practical solutions, new technologies, improved processes, and real world impact.
